Pretty little Hummingbird. . .

Yesterday, I went to the Renaissance Fair about an hour away. I came home with some pretty copper butterflies, and this adorable glass hummingbird:

I decided I was going to hang it up and found a spot, but I wasn't sure what to make a hanger out of. That's when I remembered this beading turnstile a friend gave me for my 12th birthday.

No, I haven't used it yet. I tend to hoard things until I find the perfect project for them. I decided to use the green glass beads, and the red beads in the upper righthand corner.

So, I strung a few beads onto fishing line with alternating gold spacers (I'm more of a silver person, but I thought the gold brought out the bill color). I added a bent gold paper clip to use as a hanger.

And I hung him from my vent! I don't have many hooks up in my room, but since I keep my vent closed and it's above the window anyway, I know he won't be blowing around.

Isn't he cute?

Welcome!

I just decided to make my foray into the craft blogging world! I suppose I should start with an intro to myself.

I'm a teenager, so I'm probably a bit younger than most people out here.

My crafts?

Knitting- definitely. I'm 100% self-taught. But I can still do pretty much anything- cables, lace, charts, colorwork, you name it. Now crochet. . .not so much. I'm working on it. Same with spinning, but that's actually coming along.

Jewelry making- I love it. I'm always going into stores and thinking "I can make this, but cheaper!" Of course, then I rarely am able to find the findings I want.

Sewing- Again, I'm a work in progress. I have a sewing mom, so that helps when I need something in a pinch. I've done quilts with assistance when I was younger. I'd like to do a bit more with clothes. I'd like to find a cute skirt pattern right now, but I can't find one small enough (I'm not the tiniest person in the world, but I'm not quite a size 4)

Doll stuff- my sister is still really big into her American Girl Dolls, so I help her with stuff and keep an eye out for cute doll things. I may post some of those projects occasionally.

Clothing/accessories- I'm turning into a big fan of customizing! I've not always been a huge girly-girl, but one of my goals this year is to dress better (less t-shirts and jeans, more jewelry and stuff), so I'm hoping to find cute ideas.

Room design- that's probably my biggest craft area! I really love my bedroom, and I'm really into interior design-type crafts. I'm really up for anything crafty.

Scrapbooking- sort of. I do similar things, like decorating frames, just not actual scrapbooking. I'd like to be able to, though! I won a big scrapbooking raffle basket a few years back, so I have all kinds of fun supplies. One of these days. . .

I'm not a big painter/drawer. I just don't have that kind of talent.

To be honest, I don't tend to be extremely original. That being said, I'm very easily inspired! I'm going to predict that most of my posts will be projects I've found from somewhere else, but I'll always give credit to the original poster.

And as for the title? I'm a huge Peter Pan fan. One of my favorite Disney movies <3

Here's to hoping this goes well!
